An initial wasabi kick greets you, carried by the underlying juniper berries. Orange and almonds balance the wasabi and horopito leaves creating a gentle warming. The beauty in this gin is the kelp that creates a long salty and savoury finish.
 
Wasabi root, grown locally in Golden Bay is the inspiration for how a navy strength gin (58% ABV) should taste.  You may have not tasted real wasabi root before. It is not as hot as the artificial wasabi pastes and has much more plant flavour. Wasabi titillates the back of your mouth and nasal area and has a hit but does not linger.
